Wilderness is situated between George and Sedgefield along the Garden Route. It is a popular holiday resort offering an escape, form the pressures of day to day life, into the country side.
Surrounded by many rivers, natural lakes and lagoons, makes Wilderness a fantastic location for water sports. There are many other types of activities such as paragliding, horse riding, dolphin and whale watching, mountain biking, ferry cruises and many more to quench ones appetite for adventure.
The Wilderness National Park, in the heart of the Garden Route, offers nature trails which wind through thick forests and along relaxing rivers. In the spring months many beautiful coloured flowers grace the ground, providing a picturesque spot in which to picnic.
Wilderness is known for its long white sand beach and lagoons and the town experiences an extremely mild climate, typical of the Garden Route and has little temperature variation, seldom dropping below 10ºC and above 28ºC, with year-round rainfall.
Wilderness offers a variety of accommodation as well as camping under the stars alongside the river. |
