Joubert was born in South Africa in October 1963. His parents quickly realised that he was a born artist and encouraged him to develop this talent.

Years ago Hermann sold his belongings and went to Ireland with his wife, with a desire to study the works of the Old Masters as well as that of the new generation artists. In Ireland he  worked as a farm labourer to support his househols and painting career. He started exhibiting privately and his work was received with great enthusiasm. They later went to Italy where he also sold privately. Upon returning to South Africa he continued painting professionally.

Working only in oils since 2000, with subject matter ranging from portraiture to wildlife to classical, Joubert's work has not only captured the admiration of the South African market, but also the that of several collectors all over the world.

He now concentrates on WILDLIFE and his paintings and prints can be seen as far as Siberia and Poland, in more than 30 Countries outside of Africa!

Sandra was born in Durban, South Africa on 24 November 1964. she has lived in various parts of South Africa, Namibia, Italy and Ireland. Sandra has a natural talent for expressing her innermost emotions on canvas. She is most comfortable with the medium of oil paints and manipulates them in a manner that makes her one of the more sought after contemporary artists in South Africa today. She paints naturally, mostly in glazes and never draws on the canvas before painting.

Her most popular range of work depicts the romanticism and mystique of Africa and Europe, which she captures brilliantly in her atmospheric paintings of Venice, Cape Town and other great cities. She has a passion for the beauty of Africa, whether it be the majesty of Table Mountain or the mysteries that lie hidden deep in the caves where the Bushmen lived thousands of years ago.

To Sandra, ART represents the timelessness of the universe and also the vulnerability of mas. Her work can be seen in various corporate and private collections across the globe. She currently lives in the Western Cape and is married to Hermann Joubert.

As founder of the Sandra Smith Art Gallery, co-founder of African Fine Art and member of the South African National Association of Visual Arts, she strives towards the acceptance and promotion of African art and culture, not only locally, but globally.
